The wolf in sheep's clothing: Why did it take you over three years to see the costume?

I don't like parts of Andrew Malcom's commentary that follows but I posted it anyway. The author immediately identifies his lack of foresight.  From the moment Barack Husein Obama came on the scene he was recognized as a deceitful Alinskyite...at least by those of us who can recognize a wolf in sheep's clothing.  Where Mr. Malcolm saw optimism I saw a snake.  Where he saw promises and positive things I saw a salesman selling snake oil.  Now the body of the essay has some worthwhile words to ponder, but I could never entertain  the ending statement, "But we'd take him any day over the twilight character that inhabits the Oval Office now."  I couldn't take him then and I can't take him now!
"This 2012 Obama is strident and mean, even deceitful, divisive, telling half-truths after half-truths." Some of us recognized this in 2008 and others knew as early as 2007...It's amazing how long it takes some to recognize a wolf in sheep's clothing.  ~ Norman E. Hooben

The following from Investors Business daily
Has anyone seen Barack Obama recently?

You know, the optimistic hopeful fellow with the charming smile who promised so many positive things four and five years ago, how he was going to change the harsh, partisan tone of our nation's capital and bring the country together as its first African American president.
Even allowing for political hyperbole, his empty resume and the invisible witnesses from the past, Obama was such a Real Good Talker that even some who didn't vote for him still had hope that he could change some things for the better in what seemed a sadly-splintered society.

WTH did that Obama go? Have you listened recently to this Chicago Doppelganger who's replaced him? This 2012 Obama is strident and mean, even deceitful, divisive, telling half-truths after half-truths. He's using Air Force One as his personal Brinks truck with wings to collect cash all over the country, disguising the trips as official.
He tries to intimidate the Supreme Court, an equal branch of government, when its thinking might stray from his. He distorts history, and if no one calls him, then it's true. If he's caught, this Obama says you obviously mis-heard. Because, as everyone knows, he could never mis-speak.

The economy, like everything else adverse, is someone else's fault. But if only we borrowed and spent a trillion dollars, unemployment would stay beneath 8%, Obama promised. It soared far above. It's still above. No apology. No acknowledgment. Now, he hails any dip as proof of progress when, in fact, it comes because so many just give up seeking work.
He chastises House Republicans for their draconian budget when his Senate Democrats haven't written a single one in three years; so, the fiscal drift abides. And wait till he exaggerates the frightening things the GOP wants to do, instead of presenting his own ideas.

Obama claims credit for the bottom half of a pipeline he had nothing to do with, when he killed the top half. He brags that domestic oil drilling is up when the part he's responsible for is down.
He says no one should ever go to Las Vegas on the taxpayer's dime. Then his wife, daughters and entourage do just that.

This year's Obama talks of the importance of windmills, algae and green energy, but he takes a 17-SUV motorcade to a photo op with an electric car. He lambasts oil companies for getting the same legal tax incentives (he calls them "subsidies") that other companies receive, hoping to aim anger at them so voters won't notice that gas prices have doubled since his inauguration with Honest Abe's Bible.

Take this Tuesday. The 2012 Obama flew to Florida for an official presidential speech on the economy, then three fundraisers. That way his campaign only pays a fraction of Air Force One's $182,000 per flight hour cost. All presidents do that, though none have done near as many.
But read the four speeches. You can't tell which is official and which is political. They're all political. He can't be a real president for one lousy speech? Why the phony presidential fig leaf? To chintz the United States of America out of a few thousand bucks when he plans to raise a billion?

The Buffet Rule? Americans have always admired the successful. The only thing wrong with rich people is we're not one of them -- yet. But now he's pitting most of us against rich folks, which is him, come to think of it. The only way he's bringing us together now is to resent their paying a smaller legal rate because theirs is a different kind of income.

And speaking of taxes, whch are due Monday, how can the president of the United States allow 36 of his own White House aides to fall $833,000 behind in their tax payments?
How is that what the first Obama offered, making him an example of American success? (Hint: His GOP opponent is far richer than Obama and earned it the old-fashioned way through work, not fronting books.)

OK, Obama wants political skirmishes all over on any petty thing so people won't notice the absence of any conceivably positive record to run on. Risky when Americans start paying attention. But if that's his only card. It's all the Republicans' fault, of course. That's the candidate in him, the one that prefers performing for adoring crowds instead of performing Oval Office duties.

But whatever happened to the president part? The leader. The principled man who through his personal story, skills and charm was going to inspire, convince, cajole Americans as diverse as himself to work together for a common national success? That official part has merged with the political, like the four Florida speeches. Now, he's just trying to fool everybody about everything.
In a way, this could be good news for Republicans. The duplicate Ernst Blofeld makes Mitt Romney look like Mr. Rogers.

But without real presidential leadership, Obama's hand-picked harpie atop the Democratic National Committee feels empowered to assign a hired gun to dismiss his opponent's wife, the cancer-surviving mother of five sons, as someone who's never worked a day in her life. Are they that scared already?
Seriously? We're going to pit now one kind of working woman against another? The guy who talks about having so many women in his life isn't going to fire the women responsible for that? He thinks American women will buy this stuff?

OK, Obama was raised by grandparents because he didn't always have a stay-at-home mom or dad. But this is a nation, not a dysfunctional family or a windy city party where factions are left to their own wards and Solyndras.
Obama is the guy who said his own wife was off limits politically, the guy whose mother-in-law has resided since Day One in the White House at taxpayer expense as a live-in nanny so the first lady can campaign for money and healthy foods? But a woman who stays at home with her kids at no public expense can be trashed because of her party?

We were never exactly fond of the Original Obama. But we'd take him any day over the twilight character that inhabits the Oval Office now.

Ponder this...

The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the presidency. It will be easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to an electorate willing to have such a man for their president.
The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails us. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The republic can survive a Barack Obama. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.”

Obama's future plans has dictatorship written all over it

"Dictatorship and total collapse is in the air. I can feel it."
Robert Ringer is right on when it comes to political commentary...few writers have his expertise for explaining things so that the average person can comprehend what is going on, especially when the main stream media refuses tell the truth.  I formed this opinion back in the 1970's after reading Ringers widely acclaimed book, Restoring The American Dream. ~ Norman E. Hooben
"Hitler did not have to destroy democracy; he merely took advantage of the decay of democracy and at the critical moment obtained the support of many to whom, though they detested Hitler, he yet seemed the only man strong enough to get things done."

Is an Obama Dictatorship in the Air? Predictions on the Future of America
By Robert Ringer  ( from A Voice of Sanity)

Longtime readers will recall that I began warning about Barack Obama’s dictatorial ambitions before he even won the 2008 presidential election. Now, finally, more people are beginning to take this possibility as a serious threat.
Obama’s recent contention that it would be “unprecedented” for the Supreme Court to overrule congressional legislation had dictatorship written all over it. It was, quite obviously, an ignorant slip on his part.
Rather than lashing out with absurd statements like this, the Marxmeister does much better when he follows the far-left playbook and innocently feigns indignation over anything that isn’t to his liking. Or when he isolates and vilifies his natural enemies — primarily Republicans, the “rich,” and Tea Partiers.
Targeting the Supreme Court showed a lack of self-discipline in adhering to his well-planned stealth-Marxism strategy. His angry, careless remark must have given chest pains to cheerleading, brainless Obamaviks everywhere. I hear through the grapevine that even the Wicked Witch of Kansas, Kathleen Sebelius, uncontrollably blurted out, “You idiot!”
Then there’s poor Jay Carney, who appeared to be on the verge of breaking into tears while playing with his pacifier and trying to find a way to spin BHO’s idiotic misstatement. How in the world did Obama expect someone who looks sixteen years old and talks like he’s fourteen to convince the press that his boss, who supposedly taught constitutional law, was just kidding about the Supreme Court’s not having the power to overturn legislation it deems to be unconstitutional?
I will say yet again what I have been saying for more than three years: If polls indicate that Obama is going to win the upcoming election, no problem. He’ll keep flashing that fake Barry Obama grin until November 7, then move swiftly to begin unleashing a dictatorial full monty — consisting of more regulations, higher taxes, and less freedom — that will overwhelm all but his staunchest Marxist allies.
Nothing will be off limits — a national police force, instant citizenship for all third-world people who want to come to America (especially those with criminal records), forced equalization of income (except for Obama’s wealthy supporters), widespread use of tax-audits to carry out vendettas against enemies of his administration, a virtual end to oil drilling, coal mining, and gas exploration, suspension of habeas corpus, a new sedition act that will make it a crime to speak out against the government, the police, or the military … and much, much more.
On the other hand, two or three months before the election, if the polls clearly show that Obama is going to go down in defeat, I believe there’s better than a 50-50 chance of a major “emergency” magically making its appearance, convincingly manufactured in such a way as to cause the average entitlement junkie to agree that we must rally around the president and “postpone” the November elections.
Left-wing Democratic Governor Beverly Perdue of North Carolina, who is likely headed for defeat in 2012, sent up a trial balloon on this very issue last September when she said:
I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell them we won’t hold it against them — whatever decisions they make — to just let them help this country recover. I really hope that someone can agree with me on that. You want people who don’t worry about the next election.
And during a speech in Las Vegas, Obama, railing on about the woeful economy he inherited, said that “we can’t wait for an increasingly dysfunctional Congress to do its job. Where they won’t act, I will.” That was no trial balloon. It was a clear message about his dictatorial intentions in his second term.
Americans who find it difficult to break free of their normalcy bias should think about F. A. Hayek’s explanation, in The Road to Serfdom, of how countries travel the road leading from democracy to dictatorship:
Hitler did not have to destroy democracy; he merely took advantage of the decay of democracy and at the critical moment obtained the support of many to whom, though they detested Hitler, he yet seemed the only man strong enough to get things done.
Likewise, notwithstanding his cunning and cleverness, Chairman Obama didn’t walk into a finely tuned republic and reduce it to a redistribution-of-wealth democracy overnight. The reason he and his left-wing cronies have been able to violate the Constitution as though it didn’t exist is that they are merely taking advantage of the decay of our republic into a democracy — and the subsequent decay of our democracy — that was already present when they came to power.
The Founding Fathers realized that a democracy is but a pretense for tyranny of the majority. And so did Winston Churchill, more than a century-and-a-half later, when he described it as “the worst form of government, except for all the others that have been tried from time to time.”
Like all democracies before it, our democracy has destroyed itself through an excess of democracy. Majority rule has evolved into a free‑for‑all stampede of citizens appealing to politicians to give them more and more of the plunder. And there is never a shortage of vile human beings who are willing to resort to meaningless slogans like “hope and change” to win over the mindless masses.
In his book Keeping the Republic, Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels brings the reader face to face with reality:
History teaches us that all national greatness is temporary. Every great civilization — from the Roman Empire to the British Empire — has eventually collapsed. Americans have grown complacent in their position of dominance, but the term “the American Century” suggests how relatively brief this period of dominance has been. An ancient Roman would not have been impressed by a less-than-one-hundred-year run on top.
Decline and fall are only occasionally foreseen by those en route to those destinations, and still less often forestalled by forceful and timely action. Denial of reality is a powerful human impulse, as is the tendency to mistake the status quo for the natural and inevitable order of things.
Dictatorship and total collapse is in the air. I can feel it. That’s why it was encouraging when Lieutenant Colonel Terry Lakin, a decorated Army doctor, refused to go to Afghanistan unless Barack Obama would make his birth certificate public, which resulted in his serving six months in prison and being dishonorably discharged. But it’s far more discouraging that no other high-ranking officer has had the courage to join him.
This is an important issue, because I continue to believe that if a dictatorship starts to emerge (many would argue that it already has), it may ultimately get down to a question of whether, at the moment of truth, the military will take orders from Barack Obama or, instead, side with American citizens.
Those who chuckle at all this would do well to bone up on their history.

Restoring the American Dream: the Defining Voice in the Movement for Liberty
Completely updated edition of one of the classic works of conservative literature Long before the advent of conservative talk radio and Fox News, Robert Ringer was an outspoken advocate for the cause of freedom and free enterprise. In this classic work--updated for the 21st century--Ringer's basic premise is that liberty must be given a higher priority than all other objectives. The economic and political calamity that he warned about in the late seventies is now upon us, and his new edition of Restoring the American Dream is sure to resonate with the feelings of today's angry voters. In his book, Ringer explains that: * The American Dream is not about increased government benefits and government-created "rights," but, rather, about individualism, self responsibility, and freedom--including the freedom to succeed or fail on one's own * The barbarians are not at the gates; they are already inside * Ordinary citizens no longer tell their elected officials what to do. Rather, government tells them what to do--and backs it up with force * The desire of people to band together to bring about quick, short term solutions to their problems through government intervention has perpetuated a cycle that has nearly destroyed the American Dream With Washington continuing to expand government power and spending at a record pace, Restoring the American Dream is a voice of sanity in a world gone mad.

Mayor Bloomberg Pre-judges George Zimmerman...gets ticked off when asked a about something he should have known

If only Bloomberg looked at all of the evidence he might not have looked like the fool he is here... And since when is it Bloomberg's business what laws are passed in Florida?  If Bloomberg were the mayor of Sanford, Florida and his policies were in effect, Travon Martin stood a good chance of killing George Zimmerman.  I know this may be a difficult question for the rich mayor, but just what would he do if someone was on top of him bashing his head into the sidewalk. On second a thought, that may be the only way to knock some sense into his warped brain. ~ Norman E. Hooben

Bloomberg flips out after TheDC asks question about bounty on Zimmerman [VIDEO]

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg told The Daily Caller that he is outraged that TheDC would bother to ask a question regarding the $10,000 “dead or alive” bounty that the New Black Panther Party has issued for George Zimmerman.
Bloomberg spoke at the National Press Club Wednesday about the Trayvon Martin case and “stand your ground” laws and became visibly upset when TheDC asked him about the bounty on Zimmerman.
“I don’t know that to be the case,” Bloomberg retorted about the bounty. “Anybody who puts a bounty on somebody else’s life is acting totally inappropriately. I’m sure it’s illegal, must be illegal. I’m outraged to even be asked the question. Whadya think?”
“I didn’t even know about it until you just told me, thank you very much,” he said angrily. “I appreciate the information. Now I’ve said my piece, okay?”
Zimmerman “was a man with a history of violence,” Bloomberg said in prepared remarks. “I can tell you in New York we would never allow such an individual to carry a gun and neither would many other states.”

Big Bird...the flying barn door

Source: RobEdwards.com
Only a few lambs are killed by sea eagles, says study
By Rob Edwards

They are known as “flying barn doors”, and they kill to live. But according to a new study, they don’t kill many lambs.
Sea eagles are Britain’s biggest birds of prey, with wings shaped like barn doors spanning over over eight feet. They were persecuted to extinction in the early 19th century, but are now being reintroduced under a government programme begun in the 1970s.
Their return, however, has not been welcomed by crofters in north west Scotland. They have previously blamed the birds for taking more than 200 young lambs and damaging their livelihoods.
But the new study, conducted for the Scottish government’s wildlife agency, Scottish Natural Heritage, suggests that these claims were exaggerated. Less than two per cent of deaths amongst lambs could be attributed to sea eagles, it concluded.

Researchers examined lamb mortality on the Gairloch peninsula between April and August last year. At one croft only two out of 100 lambs were lost, and at another only two out of 160 were known to have died.
Post mortem examinations of six dead lambs from these and other crofts found evidence that death had been caused by an eagle in just one case. One carcass had puncture wounds in its head and neck “consistent with being inflicted by long powerful talons”.
Other carcasses showed signs that they had been eaten by eagles, but this was probably after they had died from other causes. Eagles are known to scavenge on the bodies of lambs that have died on the hill during birth.
The study, carried out by the UK government’s Food and Environment Research Agency, also found that lambs only made up between four and 14% of the diet of sea eagles. They prefer to eat seabirds like fulmars, and fish, which they swallow whole.
There are only about 40 breeding pairs of sea eagles, also known as white-tailed eagles, in Scotland. The birds, which sometimes can been seen in Mull, Skye and elsewhere on the west coast, are still being illegally poisoned by a few farmers or gamekeepers.
The Scottish environment minister, Roseanna Cunningham, described the reintroduction of sea eagles as “an outstanding success”. But she accepted that crofters were “rightly concerned”.
She said: “Where there are problems with sea eagles predating on livestock, we will look at maintaining and improving schemes to find ways to help farmers manage their stock to coexist with these magnificent birds.”
Dr Alison MacLennan, the Skye and Lochalsh conservation officer for the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, expressed sympathy “with the distress caused to farmers and crofters through the loss of their livestock, for whatever reasons.”
But the evidence indicated that eagles tended to take lambs that were still born rather than to kill them, she argued. This was reinforced by the finding that their diet included blackface lambs, which gave birth on the open hill, but not cheviots, which gave birth under supervision close to farms.
Ewen Mackinnon from Scottish Crofting Federation, pointed out that lamb mortality last year was less than in previous years. “This is good news for the year 2009 but also leaves open to question what might be the yearly variations in predation impact,” he said.
He called for “continued vigilance” in the future. “We all share the objective of minimising lamb losses to ensure the economic sustainability of sheep management in the area,” he added.

Obama trying to kiss and make up with the Jews...

...but don't you believe him he can lie with a straight face!
by Norman E. Hooben
Just as Obama tried pandering to the Christians at this year's National Prayer Breakfast (see Washington Post), he is now trying to kiss and make up with the Jewish voters (see commentary below) after stabbing them in the back earlier (here and here).  It would behoove all of us, Christians and Jews alike, to pay little heed to whatever it is Obama says in favor of either sect...for whatever he says we all know that he will do just the opposite of his verbal niceties.  Saul Alinsky taught him well!  If Hillary Clinton can lay claim to writing her college thesis on Alinsky, Obama can lay claim to being Alinsky's number one student...magna cum laude in community organizing!
"...For it was Alinsky who spent his life teaching would-be radicals (like Obama) that you can say what you have to say to get over the hump, but once you’re over the hump, you do whatever you want to do. In other words, it’s okay to present yourself as something moderate, even centrist, for the purposes of securing power, and once you’ve secured that power it is perfectly acceptable to revert to who (and what) you really are.
In Rules for Radicals, Alinsky demonstrates this with a look at how Vladimir Lenin was able to overthrow the government in pre-communist Russia:
[Lenin said, “The government has] the guns and therefore we are for peace and for reformation through the ballot. When we have the guns it will be through the bullet.” And so it was." source: The Westrern Center For Journalism

Obama attempting to mend fences with Israel
By Jim Kouri,
(AXcess News) New York - As more and more world leaders are accepting the premise of a nuclear-armed Iran, President Barack Obama's White House is "killing two birds with one stone," said a former intelligence officer. "He's rattling his saber for the benefit of Iran, while at the same time attempting to show Jewish voters that he's not anti-Israel."
Prior to the Obama Administration, many U.S. police and law enforcement officers had undergone special training in counterterrorism and public safety in Israel. Several officers who visited Israel for training have told the Law Enforcement Examiner that there are two places where excellent training in counterterrorism and counterinsurgency is routine: In Britain, due to its experience with the IRA (Irish Republican Army) and other militant groups; and in Israel, which has been fighting for survival since its Independence in 1948.
With Obama getting low-marks from Jews in Israel and in the United States, the Obama State Department announced that Israel and the United States will conduct the largest-ever joint military exercise.
The stated purpose of exercise is the testing of U.S. and Israel's defenses against ballistic missiles, but the hidden agenda, according to the intelligence source, is to have the military exercise as close to the 2012 election as possible so that the failing U.S. President may reclaim the Jewish vote.
"The anti-Netanyahu comments by Obama in his conversation with France's President Nicholas Sarkozy more evidence of President Obama's disdain for Israel's career warrior and statesman," said former military intelligence officer and police detective Mike Snopes.
"Perhaps this military exercise will help to repair some of the damage to the two leaders' relationship. But I doubt it. Netanyahu's background is that of a warrior. Obama's is that of a 'community organizer,'" Snopes explained.
In a story on Front Page Magazine, Joseph Klein wrote about the strained relationship between Obama and the Israeli government that sheds light on what Obama really thinks. "This is a president who has gone out of his way to visit Muslim countries in the same region as Israel, but has yet to visit Israel itself since taking office. Obama had no trouble bowing to the Saudi king, while insulting the Israeli prime minister at every turn,” wrote Klein who was later quoted by Accuracy in Media.
The U.S.- Israeli drill will simulate Israel's ballistic missile defense in action. "It will be the largest and most significant joint exercise in the allies' history," Andrew Shapiro, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs, said at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy.
Shapiro said that joint exercise will allow the U.S. military "to learn from Israel's experience in urban warfare and counterterrorism."
Originally the maneuvers were planned for the spring but were postponed until later in 2012.
According to the White House, about 5,000 Israeli and U.S. troops are due to participate in the maneuvers, in which the Israel Air Force will test a full gamut of aerial-defense systems, including Iron Dome - a system that has already successfully shot down short-range rockets fired by Gaza militants; the upgraded version of the U.S.- made Patriot for intercepting hostile aircraft; Magic Wand - a system designated to counter medium-range rockets; and Arrow 3 - a system still under development for intercepting ballistic missiles high in the atmosphere.
Meanwhile, the Americans will bring along THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense) system - a key element of the nation's Ballistic Missile Defense System and aimed at intercepting missiles in the final stage of their trajectory. Its high-altitude capabilities are designed to complement the lower-altitude mission of the Patriot anti-missile system, according to missile defense experts.
News of the joint drill came amid recent local media reports that Israel is planning to strike Iran's nuclear facilities in the near future. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak were reportedly seeking to secure cabinet majority for such an attack, sparking the ire of senior U.S. government officials who accused the media of causing "tremendous damage."
