Elizabeth Warren Is Not The Problem

The “Planned Deception”
By Norman E. Hooben
We had to go off-cape today…and for those who do not understand that expression, it’s the traffic all Cape Coders dread during the summer influx of visitors/tourists; and with only two bridges connecting us to the mainland it’s pretty dreadful this time of year.  While off-cape, for whatever reason, we always make it a point to stop by some of our favorite places that we visit in the off season.  Today it was Fairhaven.  A quick lunch of some of the best sea-food this side of anywhere else on earth and a walk in the park (Fort Phoenix) afterwards makes for a lovely day.
But the beauty of it all was shredded like a Clinton e-mail before we left the restaurant.
While paying the tab I picked up a copy of the local flyer, The Fairhaven Neighborhood News, a freebie that was sitting on the counter.  A quick flip of the pages while I awaited my receipt I was able to scan the following: (My comments follow)

Elizabeth Warren tries out new presentation in New Bedford  Source
By Beth David, Editor
Democrat Elizabeth Warren, the senior US Senator from Massachusetts, made a trip to New Bedford last Thursday, 8/4, to give a speech and presentation that she said was still in the formative stages. She wanted to try it out, she said, and see how people reacted to it.
After the presentation, dubbed “The American Agenda,” she told reporters that she did notice a couple of slides just “didn’t work.” She said she hoped to hone the message and then “take it on the road,” and maybe put it online.
Before the talk, a line stretched all around the block to get into the first-come-first-serve seating at the First Unitarian Church in New Bedford. Waiting to get in, Laurel Berryman, 18, said she was looking for “further reasons” why she should vote for Hillary. Heading to college in the fall, Ms. Berryman, along with her parents, Lee and Anita, said they hoped the senator would talk about college costs that night.
Mr. Berryman said he was there to support “the ideas that Elizabeth Warren supports.”
He said he was “on board” with her ideas.”
“We’ve got to unite the country because we’re in bad shape,” he said.
Anita Berryman said she was there, “Because I love Elizabeth Warren.”
“I don’t want to see Donald Trump in office,” said Ms. Berryman. “And I want to see my daughter go to college without so much debt it prevents her from embarking on a strong future.”

Inside, the main point of the senator’s message was that government policy makes a difference. Policy is what caused the distress that middle class families are feeling, she said, and policy can fix it.
Not handouts, she said. Not giveaways, but policies that support the middle class and make large corporations pay their fair share.
She said one loophole alone in tax law would give the government $55 billion dollars annually, although she did not name the loophole.
Sen. Warren entered the packed church to a rock star welcome.
First, she laid out what the middle class looked like 50 or 60 years ago. Then she talked about shrinking wages, jobs lost overseas, and the widening gap between the rich and poor.
“What changed,” she asked.
Then she popped up a slide of President Ronald Reagan, surrounded by men, signing legislation.

The room roared with laughter.
“Policy changed,” she said.
Sen. Warren went through many of the numbers, especially those that signal a healthy economy. She said all the indicators right now are those of a good, strong economy, but the middle class is not feeling it.
Again, she said, it was deliberate policy decisions that helped to take money and jobs away from the middle class and bump profits up to the wealthy.
She said the so-called “trickle down” economics of the Reagan era simply did not work.
“As a country, we can do better,” said Sen. Warren.
She said the deregulation that started with Ronald Reagan can be put back in place.
She said America did well when it invested in itself, with education expenditures, the space program and support for workers by supporting strong unions.
She said all of that resulted in workers sharing in the wealth that was created.
She said it was not perfect, but “over time, we were bending in the right direction.”
“It worked,” she said, resulting in 90% of America getting 70% of the wealth.
Then it changed, and not by accident or mistake. She said the turnaround for the worse came as a direct result of deliberate policy decisions made by our government; decisions to support the richest people in the country, not the middle class.
In addition to ignoring the infrastructure that made America great, the policies “took the cop off Wall Street” with deregulation, creating business models based on cheating people, and putting the whole economy in danger.
Sen. Warren said most politicians no longer work for the people, they work for lobbyists.
The American Agenda has four main points: Raise the minimum wage, refinance student loans, expand Social Security, and regulate big banks.

“You can’t win if you don’t fight. You can’t make progress if you don’t aim high,” said Sen. Warren. “I believe in America…I believe in an America that grows opportunity…And I believe it’s worth fighting for.”

After her talk, Sen. Warren spent a few minutes with the press, then stayed long enough to take pictures with everyone who wanted to. •••

Dumbfounded by the insinuation that President Ronald Reagan’s economic policies created our current crisis was enough to want me to repeat Howard Beale’s line in the classic film Network, “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore!”  Well I may have mumbled it under my breath but I could distinctly hear myself say, “What an idiot!”
All legitimate economists know and history proves beyond a reasonable doubt that Reagan’s economic policies instituted the largest peacetime economic boom in American history with nearly 35 million more jobs.  But ever since Reagan’s departure the Democrats have given everything they’ve got to destroy the American Dream …and they have been pretty successful I might add!  Even Bill Clinton passed the largest tax increase in American history (at the time) towards the end of his term in office hoping to blame George W. Bush for the ill effects that would take place shortly after Bush entered the White House, but the editors of the Wall Street Journal proved that the blame for the economic downfall set squarely on Clinton’s watch.
The Neighborhood News article states that Senator Warren’s speech was still in the formative stages and that she wanted to try it out to see how people reacted to it.  I call it “Planned Deception” because Warren knows that she’s about to lie to an un-educated audience.  There’s no sense in me going after every line of her speech for anyone who follows the goings on of government economic policies knows that it’s all lies.  But here’s the real problem:
“… She talked about shrinking wages, jobs lost overseas, and the widening gap between the rich and poor.  “What changed,” she asked. Then she popped up a slide of President Ronald Reagan, surrounded by men, signing legislation. The room roared with laughter.”

The room roared with laughter.  How sad is that ?

We have an un-informed electorate and that’s 'the problem'.  But less I forget, I should give credit where credit is due and that goes to the Fairhaven Neighborhood News editor, Beth David for spreading the lies…else why didn’t she write a disclaimer stating that the views of this politician did not represent the truth. ~ Norman E. Someone once wrote the following:
The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the presidency. It will be easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to an electorate willing to have such a man for their president.
The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails us. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The republic can survive a Barack Obama. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.” ~ Author Unknown
Massachusetts can survive an Elizabeth Warren.  It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made her their senator

THIS COULD HAPPEN???
I had to take my vehicle to a mechanic the other day for service. The Service Manager, Pete, gave me a ride home and on the way he told me his theory about the upcoming election and the next four years of U.S. Government. At first, I thought it a bit far-fetched. But as I listened to him it began to make sense, scary sense...
“I believe that Hillary Clinton will win the election in November,” Pete began. “Then, sometime between November and January, Hillary will be indicted. The IRS is now investigating the Clinton Foundation and the whole e-mail thing isn’t over yet.”
“Once under indictment she won’t be able to assume the Office of the President in January. Tim Kaine, who will not actually be the Vice President because neither he nor Hillary have been inaugurated, cannot assume the Presidency. The Speaker of the House can’t move up to it because there is already a sitting President and Vice President. So President Obama, in an Executive Order citing ‘National Emergency” situation, gives himself another 4 years in office is the only way possible.to save our Nation.
Pete believes Obama has been planning this for a while now, knowing he has enough on Hillary to indict her. Had the Attorney General indicted her based on evidence from the FBI, this plan wouldn’t have worked because the DNC would have quickly come up with another candidate.
If you think about it, it’s not that outrageous. Many people on the left, including the President, want Obama to stay another 4 years. The law prohibits him from being re-elected so the only ways he can do it is by declaring MARTIAL LAW and suspending the Election (which would be a very negative thing for the country) or to declare himself still President because the elected candidate cannot assume her duties.
The latter makes more sense and is actually more feasible. And, since it’s never been done before, it would set a precedent that would be difficult to challenge.
Of course, if Trump wins the election none of this is going to happen. But what if Pete is correct? 4 more years of Obama and a mostly useless Republican House and Senate would give Obama the time he needs to continue destroying and changing the country to fit his stated goals. Saul Alinsky would be rolling over in his grave, swelling with pride - his teachings and prophecy complete.
I thanked Pete for the ride home – and for messing up my day. Now I’ve got more things to worry about!
